Male known as Captain now lives in Alaska with the Kowalke family, thanks Tom

When my wife and I decided to get a "new family member" a few weeks back, I was dead set on a Australian cattle dog. We started looking for local breeders. We found only one and they were not certain when they would have any litters available. So then we decided to look "out of state". Now, for all the people out there, the term "out of state" doesn't mean a 4 or 5 hour drive in which you get to the next state line. It may as well mean "half way around the world" when you live in Alaska. So there was no way that we could actually meet the breeder or the dog before we decided to get it. We had to somehow find somebody that we felt we could trust. Now Pedro was not the first breeder that we called. Nor was he the second or the third. He was the last. I
talked to other breeders and funny enough they all had the same attitude. They all wanted to put me on some waiting list so that I could wait to be "approved" to
purchase one of "their" dogs. That did not impress me. When I called Pedro, to be honest, I expected the same thing. I was so shocked to find somebody as down to
earth as he was. He answered all of our questions that night without any pressure to get off the phone. He sent us e-mail updates, video, and bunches of pictures. He even sent us more pictures of "Captain" that he had even after we had picked him up at the airport. He has been really helpful. And about that trust thing that I mentioned earlier. If my wife and I were to decide to get another "ACD", Pedro would be the first guy that I would call, even if I had to go on a "waiting list".

Thanks Pedro
Sincerely
Tom and Jenni Kowalke Anchorage, Alaska

Male known as Jimmy Dean now resides in California

I want to wholeheartedly thank you Pedro for all his help in finding us "our best friend." My wife and I just simply adore our new addition to the family "Jimmy Dean."
From start-to-finish, the entire experience went perfect! I was very impressed with Pedro when he interviewed us. He shared with us his experience and expertise relating to Austrian Cattle Dogs. I sensed that Pedro was not going to let-go one of his prized-pups to just anybody.  Not only did he want to make sure we were ready and prepare to take on our new responsibilities, but more importantly, he wanted to know if we were going to be loving parents.
I feel that I'm indebted to you Pedro. From my family to yours, I truly appreciate all that you have done. Take care, good luck and we'll keep in touch.
Joe & Rose MarinoSan Gabriel, CA.

Female known as Arla, lives with Kaisa in New    Mexico

It took me two months, after my blue heeler of 12 years had passed away, to realize that I possibly could not live without an Australian cattle dog…even one more day.  And when I found out, that the Navarro’s Kennels, the only ACD breeder in New Mexico , had a female puppy available…there was no holding me back; and few days later I found myself on the road to Anthony , NM , to meet the dogs.
I had already decided that one could not wish for a more handsome father than Smoke and when I met the mother, Kate, a most loving and grounded ACD, I knew the beginnings for these puppies could not have been better.  When dealing with these delicate situations, as you are looking for a new family member, the “human factor” (i.e. the breeder) could add some serious strain to the adoption process; but all along it was truly a pleasure to converse with Pedro and then meet him (and family) in person.  And it was clear that their dogs were raised with lots of love and care.
And what comes to Arla… she is all and much, much more than I hoped for.  As if “preprogrammed” for life’s challenges, she seems to already know the commands after we once initiate them… (the impeccable heeler that she is, she already knew how to walk on the leash; after few rounds of “sit”/”lay down” requests, she now knows the commands…).  She is very attentive and calm, gets famously along with our other dog and cats and…what can I say….is this amazing little big dog…
Thank you, Pedro!!
